As at the school year 2023-24, Tuyoor Al Amal is running 5 schools across two locations in Baddawi, Tripoli.
In our first location, we have four shifts: TAS1, TAS2, RS and UNICEF (out of school children) .
TAS1
This school runs for four days each week (three mornings and one afternoon), with six hours of classes each day. The children follow the Lebanese national curriculum from KG (pre-school) into Grade 1 and up to Grade 9, when they take the ‘Brevet’ public exams. The children have lessons in Arabic, Maths, English, Science, Art, Sports and other sessions linked to Lebanese society. In accordance with the Lebanese curriculum, Maths and Science are taught in the English language. Throughout the year, a range of field trips and enrichment activities take place. Children and staff come from refugee Syrian, Palestinian and host Lebanese communities.
This shift serves 871 children.
TAS2
This school runs for four days each week, with classes taking place in the afternoons. There are five hours of classes each day. The children follow the Lebanese national curriculum from KG (pre-school) into Grade 1 and up to Grade 9, when they take the ‘Brevet’ public exams. The children have lessons in Arabic, Maths, English, Science, Art, Sports and other sessions linked to Lebanese society. In accordance with the Lebanese curriculum, Maths and Science are taught in the English language. Throughout the year, a range of field trips and enrichment activities take place. Children and staff come from refugee Syrian, Palestinian and host Lebanese communities.
This shift serves 1,100 children.
RS
Also in our first location is the Rawdat al Salam school. This school offers a curriculum aligned to the Lebanese framework for children from KG (pre-school) into Grade 1 and up to Grade 9, when they take the ‘Brevet’ public exams. The children have lessons in Arabic, Maths, French, English, Science, Sports and other sessions linked to Lebanese society. In accordance with the Lebanese curriculum, Maths and Science are taught in the French language in this school. Throughout the year, a range of field trips and enrichment activities take place.
This shift serves 320 children.
Our second location is a five minute walk away from our first, so there are lots of opportunities for shared activities and friendly competition between the schools!
TAS3
This school runs for four days each week (three mornings and one afternoon), with six hours of classes each day. The children follow the Lebanese national curriculum from KG (pre-school) into Grade 1 and up to Grade 9, when they take the ‘Brevet’ public exams. The children have lessons in Arabic, Maths, English, Science, Art, Sports and other sessions linked to Lebanese society. In accordance with the Lebanese curriculum, Maths and Science are taught in the English language. Throughout the year, a range of field trips and enrichment activities take place. Children and staff come from refugee Syrian, Palestinian and host Lebanese communities.
This shift serves 280 children.
TAS High School
Our second location is also home to the TAS High School, which operates on four days each week (three mornings and one afternoon), with six hours of lessons each day. This school offers the Lebanese curriculum and serves students from Grade 10 to Grade 12, when they take the ‘Baccalaureate’ final high school exam in the Lebanese national system. Students can choose to follow exam pathways in General Science, Life Sciences or Economics. All the students have classes in Arabic, English and Maths, as well as Philosophy, Geography, History, Social Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Economics depending on the pathway taken. There are also sessions in Sports and further enrichment activities throughout the year, including field trips and other extra-curricular lessons.
Additionally, the students attend for an extra afternoon session (five hours) each week, in which they follow further classes in computing and preparation sessions for university (including scholarship applications), careers and general skills for life beyond school. Our high school operates with the wonderful support of Jusoor, our amazing partner in taking our children through high school and into adult lives with greater opportunities, hope and dignity.
This school serves 200 students.
